It is quite popular in the afternoons, with many people hanging out, sipping tea, snacking on local pastries, and soaking up in the peaceful vibe. 

DC-3 Airplane Cafe

This was my personal favorite on my journey to Skardu city. If you haven’t heard about the DC-3 airplane cafe then let me take you back for a moment. This cafe was housed inside a vintage Douglas DC-3 plane that once flew for Pakistan International Airlines, it was a flight from Skardu to Rawalpindi but had to make an emergency landing on the Indus River, after this plane was officially purchased by Shangrila Resort Hotel. It took 3 months approx for this plane to be brought to Shangrila Resort on rollers from the crash site. It is now an exquisite cafe, and the interior has turned into a cozy dining area, where you can enjoy your appetite time while taking pleasure in Upper Kachura Lake views.
